Stop Off in St Arnaud and Say Hi !!

If you're touring the South Island and you find yourself in St Arnaud, pop in and see Mark and Marianne at the Alpine Store. They're a great couple and from their village store website it looks like they're very well stocked.

We know Mark and Marianne because we bought our current house from them. And no, they weren't the ones to paint the lounge an eye-bleeding blue They gave up their careers and bought the village store just over a year ago and from all accounts are doing a roaring trade - well done guys!

In fact, there's a hotel for sale in St Arnaud... hmmmmmmm

It looks like a beautiful area, and we shall see for ourselves soon as we are off to Abel Tasman for a kayaking and camping trip mid-Feb and thought we'd see if we can pop in en route.

Saint Arnaud is a small alpine village located in the north of the South Island. It is situated at the northern end of Lake Rotoiti west of the mountains of the Saint Arnaud Range and 80 kilometres southwest of Nelson.

actually - that was 'great'!!

and thanks, also for the disclaimer regarding the colour of the lounge.....

Seriously - come and see the best general store this side of the black stump. We know you are discerning wine drinkers, and I am sure you will be impressed. M & M xx

Shagen, I rather think it is a postcard photo as I certainly don't recall taking it (or indeed climbing to that height!).

Hope you and yours are still enjoying your life in NZ!
